President’s Message March 2020
Our first meeting at Life Assembly Church went well. I appreciate how everybody pitches in to set up the tables and chairs. I pointed to where they were stored, started setting up my laptop, then looked up and everything was set up! This will be a good place for us to meet.
The Tech Class is well under way. We have 14 students, and we’re on schedule with the material. Any club member is welcome to visit and review the material, or just provide moral support. The VE session for this will be April 13th. We’ll also be holding an AERO 100 class about 2 weeks later, tentatively on the evening of April 27th. If you’re a new ham, or one that wants a little more help getting on the air, save the date! I’ll say more about this next month.
Midwinter Madness is coming up this month, on March 21st! This is one of our biggest events of the year. There are lots of volunteer positions open, starting with setup on the afternoon of March 20th. You should have received a copy of the flyer in the mail. We’ll have extra copies at the club meeting, be sure to pick up a few to hand out to coworkers, family, and friends. This is a great opportunity to get old and new ham radio equipment that is normally not available locally. It’s also a time to see people from around the state that you usually only hear on the air.
