The shack is mostly packed up, the antennas are off the roof, and the cables are all coiled up. I am proud of the professionalism and hard work that this club has put in responding to a difficult situation. I’m particularly grateful for Roy’s and Tim’s hard work and expertise. The last thing left is to move things into storage. Be sure to bring your calendar to the next meeting, so we can find a day that works for many of us. The more of us we have the quicker it will go.
Our last meeting at the Fire Station will be December 3rd. Our January meeting will be at the Golden Corral buffet, instead of a pot luck. Starting in February we’re tentatively planning to meet at the Life Assembly Church in Maple Grove. More details later.
Skywarn Recognition Day will be from 6pm December 6th, to 6pm December 7th (midnight to midnight UTC) at the National Weather Service in Chanhassen. We could use a lot of people to show up and operate. We’ll be making contacts with weather service offices around the country as well as other hams. This is a great chance to tour the newly remodeled office at the NWS. It’s also an opportunity to practice operating in a semi-contest environment. If you don’t have any experience, we’ll give you a script and coaching. It’s a lot of fun! If you can’t visit in person, try to find us on the air or EchoLink.
