Happy March!
As we start to head towards spring we have a lot of events coming up. The biggest one is this
month we have is Midwinter Madness (March 23rd). I’d like to thank everyone who has been setting
everything up and getting the word out. We need everyone who is able to volunteer to sign up via sign up
genius to help day of. It takes a large effort to keep this a successful event.

This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we always have a good turnout. Please sign up
online or reach out if you have any issues and we can get you signed up to volunteer.
Another thing as spring approaches comes the potential for severe weather. Our Metro
Skywarn rotation for Maple Grove Radio Club starts March 11-17. If you are interested in
becoming a Skywarn net control operator please let me know. I can add you to the Maple
Grove Net Control Supervisor email list. I will be sending out the roster, manual, and a kickoff
meeting sometime that week so keep an eye out, it distributed via the supervisor list.
The metro skywarn training schedule has been posted. If you need to renew your membership
please sign up for a class. It needs to be renewed every two years. The link to sign up for
training is posted in the calendar page at: https://metroskywarn.org/calendar/ This is a
separate training from becoming a net control operator.
