It looks like we are GO for Midwinter Madness! Covid numbers are falling, vendor registrations are rising, and we have only 19 days to go. Volunteer spots are filling up, we’ll open more up once all the positions are filled with the minimum. It doesn’t hurt to have extra people in each job.
The 2022 ARES MN Conference was a big success! We had around 140 people signed in, I think that’s a tremendous success for our first time out. I owe a huge thank you to Gordy Hanson, N0ZRD, for all the hard work he’s done putting this together. We’ll give him a big hand at the next club meeting!
The 2022 Technician Class is well underway, and we’ll be having 2 lab sessions this month, on Sunday afternoon from 12:30-15:30, on March 6th and March 27th. If you’d like to help with that, let me know. We’ll also be having a work party in the shack at the same time, let Tim Arimond know if you’d like to do that.
Speaking of reduced Covid numbers, the board has made the decision to start holding meetings in person starting in April. We’ll be meeting at the Chester Bird Post of the American Legion at our usual time and day, Tuesday April 5th, at 7pm. We will also be on Zoom for people who for whatever reason don’t want to meet in person.
Covid is still here though, so let’s continue to be careful so the next variant doesn’t get a foothold. I still plan to wear a mask whenever I’m in an indoor public space.
