We’re all looking forward to Field Day, which is June 24th and 25th, with setup on the afternoon of the 23rd. I’m always impressed by how we all pull together to make this happen, especially takedown! As last year, Roy Wood and Carolyn Maristany are in charge, and we’ll be doing it in the field next to the Chester Bird Post.
Also this month is the MS-150 bike ride. Many of us are signed up to take part in supporting this ride, which goes from Proctor MN (just outside Duluth) to White Bear Lake. We do jobs like SAG (support and gear) drivers and navigators, rest stop comms, and net control. We can always use more volunteers; contact any officer and we’ll get you in touch.
New last month was our first Lab session, where they talked about the basics of soldering. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do any hands-on soldering last month, since food safety doesn’t allow us to solder in the meeting room. Tomorrow, June 5th, is the next session, and they plan on soldering on tables outside the patio, or in the shack.
July 4th is the first Tuesday in July this year, we’re going to have to find an alternative. We’ll discuss this at the meeting, if you’re not there watch your email to see what we come up with.
That’s all for this month, see you all Tuesday!
