With two vaccines approved and vaccinations underway, things are finally starting to look up. Maybe by the end of the summer we’ll be able to finally get back to what we do best, serving the public.
There’s a possibility we’ll have an outdoor hamfest in the parking lot of the Golden Valley American Legion sometime in the summer. Stay tuned!
Most of you have heard this by now, but my appointment as MN Section Emergency Coordinator began on January 1st. I’m still President of MGRC, so I will need all the help I can get to run things. If you see something that needs doing, let me know, and be ready to step forward to help. My job is to find out what the club wants to do, and make sure someone is doing it.
Something we’re going to be doing soon is updating the ARES roster. If you think you are in ARES or want to be, we’re going to have you fill out a new application form.
Our partnership with the Chester Bird Post of The American Legion is progressing nicely. We had a meeting to work out the details of what will be in the MOU, and they will have a meeting soon to adopt the articles of incorporation. As part of this, I want a census of how many people are eligible to be in the Legion, the Sons of the Legion, or the Auxiliary. If you are a veteran or have an ancestor or spouse who is a veteran, you are eligible. I’ve asked this before, but I apologize that I may not have taken accurate notes. If you are eligible please send me an email, even if you think I already know. Send it to President@K0LTC.org
