I’m writing this on the way to Tofte, where Deb and I are going to be helping with Net Control for the Beargrease Sled Dog race. This is becoming the highlight of my winter now. I hear there is tons of snow up there so they certainly have enough. In fact, they even had to change the route because a trail groomer got stuck, and so did the skid loader that was trying to pull it out. I think it’s going to be there until spring. We’re going to be hosting our Tuesday meeting from here.
We’ve started registration for the 2022 ARES MN Conference. At the rate registrations are pouring in this is going to be very popular! I hope this is something we can do every year. This will be a half day session on Zoom on the afternoon of February 26th. If you’d like to brush up your skills at emergency communications, don’t miss it! We will have a keynote speaker from the ARRL, talks on Winlink, Go Kits, MNVOAD, Tower Trailers, and AERO, and how to practice your skills with public service events.
Reminder- our technician license class starts next Monday, Feb 7th. Tell your friends how much fun this hobby is, and we’ll help them get their license. Don’t keep it a secret!
Get ready for Midwinter Madness on March 19th. We need everybody to volunteer for this so we have a successful event. You’ll need your badge for this, so if you haven’t asked Jerry for a new badge do that ASAP.
