The annual dinner meeting at the Golden Corral was a big success. Great food and great conversations were had by all. This month, our club meeting will be at the Life Assembly Church in Maple Grove. This is a new venue for us, and we owe a big thank you to the lead pastor Dale Demell for making this space available to us.
Many of us helped with the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon on the north shore of Lake Superior in the last week of January. That sounds pretty cold, and it usually is, but this year it was relatively mild, most of the time in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s. We had volunteers at many road crossings and check points along the way, and in net control at Bluefin Bay Resort. As usual, Gordy Hanson did a great job organizing us.
We don’t have any major volunteer opportunities coming up in February. But our biggest event is coming up on March 21st, our hamfest, Midwinter Madness. We expect everybody to pitch in and help with this one. It’s a lot of fun, and this is our biggest fundraiser.
