Greetings to all!
I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who made Midwinter Madness happen this year. It was once again a great success. The committee did an outstanding job and there were no major issues that I heard of. If there is something that you’d like to bring up there is a meeting the first Thursday of April at 6:30. We will need to find a new location sooner than later for next year so please keep an eye out and relay any possibilities to mwmcomm@k0ltc.org.
With this late season snow that tends to break branches and disrupt phone and power lines it’s a good reminder to have a plan and backup communication available. I hope everyone was able to dig out from this heavy snow without too much issue. Another part of preparedness is knowing how to respond if called upon. To get some of that valuable training the AERO 101 and 102 classes are in April. AERO 101 is April 15th and 17th. The AERO 102 class April 29th and 31st. The prerequisites for those classes are ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800. Reach out at the next meeting if you have any other questions on the classes.
One last reminder that this month’s presentation will be a bit longer than usual. I am looking forward to it and believe it will be extremely useful information on optimizing antenna layout and performance for your specific area.
